80:20 awarded contract to deliver laboratory equipment and consumables for existing client

Overview

We were asked by an existing client to tender for lab equipment and consumables, a commodity where at the time we had limited experience and no established supply chain in place.

The client also requested for the data to be loaded onto their eProcurement portal to have everything in one place.

Approach

Our team of procurement specialists analysed the client data and quickly established a new streamlined and competitive supply chain for lab equipment. They sourced the appropriate product manufacturers and distributors and negotiated the best prices in the market at preferred terms.

Deliverables

Despite tendering against established suppliers within this area, we were awarded the contract for two years with an option to extend. The results were lower product and transactional costsan improved supply chain established and a 50% reduction in material master numbers.
